HIPPOTHERAPY & THERAPEUTIC RIDING:

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

Hippotherapy Therapy:

  • Horse’s movement is essential to assist in meeting therapy goals.
  • Goal is to improve neurological, physical, cognition, coordination, organization and attention level for daily tasks.
  • Helping the rider reach their full potential is of paramount importance.
  • Billable through insurance

Therapeutic Riding:

  • Completed by trained horseback riding instructor, and assisted by volunteer aids.
  • Horse’s temperament is essential to learning riding skills
  • Goal is to improve neurological, physical, cognition, coordination, organization and attention level for daily tasks.
  • Helping the rider reach their full potential is of paramount importance.
  • NOT billable through insurance

As much as possible the riders participate in pre-mounted and post-mounted horse care.  Riders that have physical, intellectual, cognitive, developmental, and learning differences can benefit from Therapeutic Riding.
